Thanks to Rudolf Steiner School in Geneva!
2013/5/27 14:52:59 (2967 reads)

Many thanks are in order for this wonderful group of kids!  On the 14th of December, 2012, two classes of the Rudolf Steiner School in Geneva presented a collection of books and computers to Tanya Schmid for her school in Gonaives, Haiti.  The idea to support the project “Musical-Haiti” and the 1700 primary and secondary students in Trou Sable, the poorest section of Gonaives, was chosen by the 7th and 8th grades for the September 29th St. Michael’s celebration, a tradition of the Rudolf Steiner Schule...

In addition to over 30 shopping bags full of books, the twenty-four students led by Sabine Schuster and Pascale Ripaux and 26 students led by Evan Rocher and Genevève Baumann also collected 10 laptops and computers for the school La Sainte Famille.

The students also asked for donations from their neighbors and local merchants, sang in the streets on December 11th and sold things at the Christmas market to collect money to pay for the transportation of the items.  They raised Sfr. 1040 for this cause!
