16 Boxes of Sheet Music from Wisconsin!
2012/7/28 15:34:27 (2543 reads)

Sheet music is scarce in Haiti and costly in the USA. Thanks to Nick Contorno's wonderful connections, James T. Rohner at Instrumentalist Magazine agreed to donate 16 boxes of new sheet music for band and orchestra to Musical-Haiti. The sheet music is often reviewed by the national magazine and then usually sits in storage. Thanks, Jim!  :-)

After a search for transportation possibilities...

Maryann and Dan found D & G Transportation in Germantown, and with a little elbow grease from our fantastic new coordinators at Musical-Haiti (USA), the 16 boxes were loaded onto trucks and headed to "Food for the Poor" in Coconut Creek, Florida, mid-May.

The boxes arrived just in time for Janet Anthony's summer music camps in Port-au-Prince and Jacmel (see also: http://blogs.lawrence.edu/news/tag/janet_anthony), so we hope to pass 8 of the boxes (full of music for strings) on to her.

    Way to go, USA-Team!
