Kettle Moraine Students to Help Haiti
2012/4/19 18:39:47 (2568 reads)

About 20 Kettle Moraine High School students have offered to help raise funds and collect instruments for the children in Gonaïves.  Lauren Roznowski Hayden, Director of Orchestras for KMHS (Wisconsin), will be assisting the students with this project.  Chris Arnson, wife of KM Vice Principal Kehl Arnson, has offered to be the students' liason to Musical-Haiti (USA)...

The students, led by Lauren Hoefgren who is doing this as her sociology project, are currently brainstorming about fundraising projects such as selling bracelets and possibly doing a used-instrument drive next fall 2012.  They would like to set up pen-pals, collect school supplies for the kids in Haiti and maybe even start a Facebook page about all this.

During her visit to the US in March 2012, Tanya spoke with Chris Arnson about the possibility of KMHS becoming a sister school to EMNCG.  It now looks like that is going to happen.  We expect great things from these dynamic young musicians!
