On March 9th, 2012, Tanya Schmid was honored for her humanitarian work in the Musical-Haiti project and was inducted into the Trailblazer Hall of Fame at Kettle Moraine High School in Wales, Wisconsin. http://www.kmsd.edu/aboutus.cfm?subpage=1478176

As the Founder of Musical-Haiti, she received certificates of recognition from the County of Waukesha, the State of Wisconsin and from U.S. Senator Herb Kohl.  Tanya gave a speech to 1700 high school students at Kettle Moraine, and gave presentations about her project in Haiti to six music classes at the high school.

Tanya's project has operated out of Switzerland up until now.  During her visit to Wisconsin, Jennifer Maney (far right) and Chris Arnson (second from right), both high school classmates of Tanya's, volunteered their time to help start a Musical-Haiti group in the United States.
